Mission: The missions never over.
Location: Planetside
Timeline: Daybreak

The first shaft of light of morning had come round all too soon as Eve and Wyatt walked through the terrain heading for their destination. “I wonder how the other team are doing? Do you think they stopped the night the same as us?”

Wyatt chuckled at Eve's question. She was competitive, though she hid it well. However he knew she was because he was as well.
"I'm sure they did Eve. Captain wouldn't risk them traveling at night in unfamiliar terrain and running the risk of one or more of them getting hurt. You can be sure they stopped, ate like we did and are probably having breakfast even now."

“I don’t know about that, Uncle Finchley would be off as early as he could get.” Eve smiled. “What kind of terrain should we expect from here on out?”

Wyatt grinned at her, "You may be right Eve. But no matter, we will beat him and the rest of his team into the city." He looked at the tricorder. "See for yourself Eve." He said showing her the readout. "Looks to get hilly and rough in a little bit."

Eve paused to look at the readouts. “Looks like there’s a possible gully we could squeeze through just there..” She motioned to the point on the readouts. “Let’s see what it’s like when we get there.”

"Sounds like a good plan to me. If we can use the gully, it will definitely make our trek both easier and quicker." Wyatt answered as the pair continued to move at a steady pace.

Eve nodded. “Let’s just hope it’s wide enough when we get there, it’s hard to tell on these readings.”

"True enough Eve, though I like to think positive." Wyatt answered as the pair continued their trek towards the city.

~ A while later ~

“Well here we are...” Eve motioned to the gully in the hillside they were facing. “It looks a little narrow, but we might be able to traverse it. What do you think?”

Wyatt eyed the gully. "It does look a bit narrow, but we should be able to make it if we walk in single file." he looked to Eve, "What I worry about is being caught in it and having no place to hide or run. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel."

“Good point” Eve nodded. “In that case...” she studied the rocky hillside in-front of them. “We can scale this.”

"Eve sweetie, we can do anything together." Wyatt replied taking her hand and starting up the rocky hillside.

Climbing was one skill training didn’t really cover, but Eve wasn’t going to let that stop her. “I take it...once we’re over this...we’re almost there?”

Wyatt didn't reply immediately as he was pushing going up the hill as well as holding Eve's hand and keeping them both from falling. He paused to answer her. "Once we crest this hill, I'll look at the tricorder but yes, I think you are right Eve, it won't be much longer before we reach the city."

Eve nodded. “You don’t need to hold my hand Imzadi” she smiled. “I can keep up, besides you know what my uncle would say...” she offered a wry smile. “Besides I need to do this for myself, just to prove I don’t need a babysitter watching my back!”

A hurt expression crossed Wyatt's face as Eve spoke. "I don't care what your uncle would say, I know you can do this, and I know you don't need a babysitter. I was offering my help as your husband."

Eve paused climbing, checking their surroundings before turning to Wyatt. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to...” She paused. “As your wife I accept your help, I always will accept your help, we’re a team.” She offered a smile. “Let’s get to the top and go from there.”

Wyatt's smile could rival the sun in its brilliance at Eve's statement. "Darn right we're a team." he replied as he leaned in to kiss her softly. "let's see what is over the rim."

Eve nodded and they set off at a faster pace than before, reaching the top a few minutes later they cautiously surveyed their surroundings. “I’m definitely sensing more people now, we’re going to need to watch our backs from here on in.”

"Keep your eyes and senses peeled for anything out of the ordinary Eve." Wyatt replied as he looked at the tricorder. "Fairly flat from here on into the city. Check your phaser to have it on heavy stun....just in case."

“Understood” Eve pulled out her phaser checking the setting just incase it was needed. “Let’s hope we don’t end up needing it.”

"Truer words were never spoken Eve. I hope we can pull this mission off with the minimal amount of difficulty." Wyatt answered.

“No doubt we’ll find out soon enough” Eve stood up and dusted herself off. “Let’s get to the city.”

Wyatt's eyes swept over Eve with approval. "Agreed and you know you clean up nice." He grinned. "To the city we go."
